The tracheostomy tube is a curved tube that is inserted into a tracheostomy stoma(the hole made in the neck and windpipe).

The tracheostomy tubes come in many varieties, including cuffed, uncuffed and fenestrated. A cuff is a soft balloon around the distal(far) end of the that can be inflated to allow for mechanical ventilation in patients with respiratory failure. The cuffs are inflated with air. Fenestrated tube that permits speech through the upper airway when the external opening is blocked, even if the tube is too big to allow airflow around the outer cannula.

[Method of use]:

Ø According to the clinical need, choose the appropriate model specification of tracheostomy tube;

Ø Peek off the individual packaging, take out the product;

Ø Inflate the tracheostomy tube with a injector to affirm whether it’s air injection system is smooth and intact;

Ø If a leakage is found in a cuff or seal during use, it should be replaced by a same specification tracheostomy tube;

Ø Place the tracheostomy tube in the patient’s respiratory tract softly in accordance with the instructions of tracheal intubation and fast withdrawal the intubation stylet;

Ø Tying the fixed belt to the neck of the patient firmly;

Ø Inflate the tracheostomy tube with a proper amount of air and check regularly;

Ø Ensure the tracheostomy tube is inserted in right position and tied firmly. And check it regularly;

Ø Nursing the patient according to the tracheal intubation. After use, exhaust the air in cuff and pull out the tracheostomy tube gently.

[Cautions]:

Ø This product is disposable products, prohibit re-use and use the expired products, read the instructions carefully before use;

Ø Only the medical persons are allowed for the operation;

Ø The product is sterilized by ETO. If the package is damaged, do not use;

Ø The medical staff select the appropriate specification should be based on the patient's age, gender, body weight and other practice conditions;

Ø After use, the product and packaging should be disposed according to hospital or environmental requirements;

Ø When proceed suction from the tracheostomy tube, choose a right size of suction catheter, the outer diameter of suction catheter is based on 1/2 of the inner diameter of tracheostomy tube;

Ø When suction from the tracheostomy tube, it should be moved and turned. The suction should not be in the same position for a long period of time.

[Contraindications]:

Ø The product is forbidden for use if the patient has acute laryngeal disease, acute inflammation of the trachea, inflammation or new creatures under the glottis, thoracic aortic aneurysm compressing the trachea, cervical spine injury, and excessive endotracheal intubation time are prohibited.

Ø Allergic to PVC materials and patients with severe bleeding constitution are careful to use them.

[Storage and transportation]:

Ø Tracheostomy Tube are stored in a well-ventilated clean room with room temperature and relative humidity less than 80%, no corrosive gas .

Ø The device shall be taken care during transportation and handling.
